Belgian-born Ghanaian youngster Elton Yeboah has completed a permanent move to Belgian Challenger Pro League side Lierse SK from top-flight outfit KV Mechelen, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The 20-year-old midfielder sealed the transfer on deadline day, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at the AsterX Group-f Arena until June 2028.
The move brings an end to his stay at Mechelen, where he struggled to break into the club’s senior setup after being promoted from the youth ranks.
Yeboah, a former KRC Genk prospect, was drafted into Mechelen’s mainstream squad in 2024 after progressing through several academies, including Beerschot, Genk and KV Mechelen.
Despite showing promise, first-team opportunities proved limited, with the youngster featuring predominantly for Jong KV in the reserve league.
With regular minutes hard to come by this season, Mechelen opted to move the midfielder on permanently, allowing him to seek consistent game time in Belgium’s second tier.
Lierse confirmed the deal on their official website, describing Yeboah as their fourth signing of the winter transfer window.
The Borgerhout-born midfielder joins a Lierse side that has been active in the market, bringing in Stanic, Boncina, Willems and Yeboah, while sanctioning the departures of De Kerf, Asare and Adinany.
With his Ghanaian heritage, Yeboah remains eligible to represent the Black Stars at international level, should he impress and establish himself as a regular starter in the Challenger Pro League.
