Ghana Premier League club FC Samartex have suspended Eric Bekoe from his role as first team assistant coach and coach of the youth team.
In a statement signed by the management of the club, it said the former Asante Kotoko striker has been suspended for insubordination and breach of the ethics guiding the club.
Bekoe has subsequently been referred to the disciplinary committee of FC Samartex for a hearing.
“Management has taken the decision to temporarily suspend Eric Bekoe from his role as Assistant Coach and youth team coach for insubordination and breach of the ethics guiding members of the FC Samartex 1996 technical team.
“He has subsequently been referred to the club's disciplinary committee for hearing. The public shall be updated on the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings,” the management of FC Samartex said in their statement issued on Tuesday, February 3.
FC Samartex appointed Eric Bekoe as their new youth team head coach and senior side strikers' coach in October 2025.
His appointment formed part of the club's long-term development strategy, utilising Bekoe's experience to nurture young talent and improve senior team attacking efficiency.
The fate of the former Black Stars striker’s role now hangs in the balance as he awaits the outcome of the hearing.
