Ghanaian defender Sadick Abubakar was on target for FK Radnik Surdulica, but his effort proved insufficient as the hosts suffered a 3-2 defeat to Serbian giants Partizan Belgrade in the Serbian Super Liga on Saturday.
Radnik made a dream start at the EFBET Stadium in Surdulica when Abubakar opened the scoring after just five minutes.
The centre-back rose to the occasion to convert a well-timed pass from Mateja Gasic, registering his first goal of the league campaign.
However, the lead was short-lived as Partizan drew level three minutes later through an unfortunate own goal by Bosnian midfielder Haris Hajdarevic.
The visitors then took control of the contest, with Senegalese forward Demba Seck proving decisive.
Seck struck twice in quick succession between the 24th and 38th minutes, handing Partizan a commanding 3-1 advantage at the break.
Radnik pushed for a response and were rewarded deep into stoppage time of the first half when Gasic reduced the deficit to give the home fans renewed hope.
Ghanaian midfielder Emmanuel Quarshie was introduced at the start of the second half as Radnik searched for an equaliser, but Partizan held firm to secure all three points.
Abubakar has now made 19 league appearances this season, scoring once in the Serbian top flight.
