The head of the medical team of the Black Stars, Dr Prince Pambo, has visited injured defender Mohammed Salisu following his trip to France.
Dr Pambo travelled to Monaco to show support for the player who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in January during a Ligue 1 game against Olympique Lyonnais.
The visit will offer Dr Pambo the opportunity to assess the player's fitness following the start of his rehabilitation. Salisu has been in the gym in the past few days, showing signs of early progress.
Although, he is expected to be out for 4 to 6 months, the former Southampton player could be available for the World Cup in North America in June.
Salisu has been a key figure in the Black Stars team, featuring in seven FIFA World Cup qualifiers and scoring two goals as Ghana qualified for the World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Before suffering the setback, Salisu had cemented his place in the Monaco squad as a regular starter, impressively starring in this season's UEFA Champions League.
The defender made his debut for Ghana in September 2022 as a second-half substitute in a 3-0 friendly defeat against Brazil. He scored his first goal for the Black Stars in a 2-0 friendly win against Switzerland on 17 November 2022.
Meanwhile, Dr. Pambo is expected to visit other Ghanaian players in France, including injured midfielder Abu Francis.
Ghana is gearing up for the World Cup in June, and efforts are being made to ensure all players are in top shape for the world's biggest football tournament.
The Black Stars will play Panama in their opening match at the World Cup before taking on England and Croatia in the other Group L matches.
