English-Ghanaian striker Daniel Agyei set Kocaelispor on their way with a decisive opener in a convincing 3-0 home victory over Gaziantep FK in the Turkish Super Lig.
Agyei broke the deadlock on 36 minutes, arriving in the box to sweep home after a clever low cross from left-back Massadio Haidara, rewarding Kocaelispor’s early attacking momentum.
Selcuk Inan’s side controlled possession and limited Gaziantep to half-chances, then turned the screw after the break. Substitute Serdar Dursun doubled the lead in the 76th minute, finishing clinically from a Darko Churlinov pass, before Rigoberto Rivas capped the performance five minutes later, again set up by the lively Churlinov to make it 3-0.
Agyei’s sharp movement, hold-up play and composure in front of goal underlined why he has become a key figure in Kocaelispor’s attack this season.
This result extends their strong recent run and delivers a first clean sheet in several outings. Next up, Kocaelispor travel to face Rizespor on Friday, February 20, looking to build further momentum in the race for the top half.
