Bechem United head coach Kobina Amissah has praised his players for their resilience and tactical discipline after securing a crucial 1-0 victory over Young Apostles in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The Week 22 clash at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Stadium saw the Hunters claim maximum points thanks to a 61st-minute equaliser from Augustine Okrahâa goal that proved decisive in a tightly contested encounter.
Speaking after the match, Amissah acknowledged the difficulty of the fixture and applauded his side's ability to execute their game plan under pressure.
"My players did very well because it was a very difficult game," Amissah said in his post-match interview. "Taking into consideration how we were able to defend well, especially in the first half, I think they did very well."
The coach revealed that his team deliberately adjusted their approach to break down a stubborn Young Apostles defence.
"The game was very difficult; how to unlock their defence was very tough, so we intentionally decided to sit back to defend and counter-attack. It worked, and we got the goal."
"We are happy that at the end of the day we were able to win the game," he added.
The victory lifts Bechem United to ninth in the Ghana Premier League standings with 29 points, providing a solid platform as they look to build momentum in the second half of the campaign.
For Amissah and his players, the focus now shifts to maintaining consistency and climbing further up the table.
