Black Princesses assistant coach Raymond Fenny has declared that the team is determined to use their hard-fought victory over South Africa as a foundation for success in the final qualifying round against Uganda.
Ghana edged past South Africa 3â2 on aggregate to set up a decisive two-legged tie with Uganda in May, with a place at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland on the line.
Speaking to Citi Sports, Fenny emphasized the positive mood within the camp and the team's resolve to carry that momentum forward.
"Morale is high in the camp, and this match against South Africa serves as a basis, so we want to build upon it," Fenny said.
He revealed that preparations for the Uganda clash have already begun, with the technical team analysing Uganda's recent game against Zambia. The squad is expected to resume camping in early April ahead of the first leg on May 3.
"That is why we are determined that we'll go to camp as early as possible so that we'll be able to keep the team."
Ghana is chasing an eighth consecutive appearance at the U-20 Women's World Cup, a feat that would further cement the nation's status as a powerhouse in African women's youth football.
For Fenny and the Black Princesses, the South Africa victory is not an endingâit is a beginning. And they intend to build upon it.
