Black Starlets assistant coach Nana Kweku Agyemang has expressed satisfaction with his side's defensive improvement after back-to-back clean sheets against Division One League opponents Port City and Koforidua Semper Fi.
The Starlets kicked off their double-header day with a 1-0 victory over Port City, courtesy of an early strike from captain Joseph Narbi. They followed up with a commanding 2-0 win over Semper Fi at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, February 18.
Speaking after the matches, Agyemang highlighted the significance of keeping two consecutive clean sheets, especially after conceding in previous friendlies.
"We want to know how they react when they are playing against these sides. The fact that they didn't concede, that's good," Agyemang said.
"Last week we played against Na God and another team. I think we conceded in both games. Although we still won, but we conceded in both games."
"So, the fact that this time around they didn't concede, it tells a lot about the work that we are doing at the moment. I think that the boys did well."
The results underscore the technical team's deliberate focus on building match fitness and tactical cohesion as preparations intensify for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for April in Morocco.
With the tournament now just weeks away, the Starlets appear to be hitting their stride at the right time.
