President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has expressed satisfaction with the upward trajectory of domestic football, pointing to renewed fan interest and heightened competition in the ongoing 2025/26 campaign.
The current season has seen improved matchday attendance across several venues, alongside a fiercely contested title race that has kept supporters engaged week after week.
In an interview with Asaase Radio, Okraku highlighted what he described as steady and visible growth within the local game. He singled out Sunday’s Super Clash at the Baba Yara Stadium as a defining moment.
"What excites me most is the progression of local football," he said.
"Days ago, we saw the Super Clash in Kumasi, and that was a loud statement about our game and about the fact that we still have passion for local football and also about the fact that we have one of the best referees on the continent, Daniel Laryea, so I am happy with how we have brought domestic football," he added.
On the pitch, the title race remains intense. After 22 matches, Medeama SC lead the standings with 44 points.
Attention now turns to Matchday 23 fixtures, which will be played at various venues across the country this weekend.
