Former Ghana international Hamza Mohammed has described young winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku as an indispensable asset, stating the country is "privileged" to possess a talent of his caliber for the Black Stars.
Speaking with 3Sports, the former midfielder urged that the Leicester City attacker be made a focal point for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, emphasizing that the 21-year-old is a generational talent, provided he remains injury-free.
“He [Fatawu Issahaku] is a great talent. We are just privileged to have such a talent in our team[ Black Stars]. A young guy who is doing very well for himself and the country.
“We just pray for injury-free for him. I believe he should be the one that we should look for in the World Cup that we are going.”
Issahaku's high praise comes amidst a stellar 2025/26 campaign in the English Championship, where he has recorded 8 goals and 7 assists in 33 appearances following a return from a serious ACL injury.
His season highlights include a stunning long-range strike against Charlton Athletic and becoming the first Ghanaian to score a Championship hat-trick during a dominant display against Southampton.
