Asante Kotoko interim head coach Prince Yaw Owusu has admitted that the dressing room was a difficult place to be following the team's painful 1-0 loss to Hearts of Oak but insists the Porcupine Warriors have since found their footing.
Speaking to AKSC Media ahead of Sunday's Ghana Premier League clash against Vision FC at Baba Yara Stadium, Owusu opened up about the psychological toll of losing to their fiercest rivals.
"After the Hearts of Oak game, morale was low," he revealed.
The defeat left players and staff searching for answers, with the weight of expectation and the magnitude of the fixture compounding the disappointment. But Owusu and his technical team moved quickly to address the mood in camp.
"We held a few meetings to lift the players' spirits," he said.
The response came in emphatic fashionâa 2-0 victory over Young Apostles that restored belief and reminded everyone of the squad's capabilities.
"Luckily, we bounced back with a victory. We are ready to face Vision FC as well. It won't be easy, but in the end, victory will be ours."
Kotoko now turn their attention to Vision FC, with kick-off set for 3:00 pm at Baba Yara Stadium. The low point has passed. The focus now is on building momentum.
