Bibiani Gold Stars deputy communications and administrative manager Joseph Oti Manu has declared that his side's 2-1 victory over Accra Hearts of Oak sends a clear message about their title intentions.
The defending champions secured their first-ever win over the Phobians since gaining promotion to the Ghana Premier League, a result that keeps them firmly in the title hunt. Gold Stars remain second in the standings but have now reduced the gap to league leaders Medeama SC to just one point.
Speaking exclusively to Citi Sports after the Week 24 triumph, Oti Manu was understandably buoyant.
"It was a good weekend for us. It was a good game. The two teams played very well, but let me congratulate Bibiani Gold Stars for the massive win."
The victory was particularly significant given Gold Stars' previous struggles against Hearts on home soil.
"Playing in Bibiani against Hearts, it tends to be a drawn game, but we made everything right from the management level, and the fans were really poised."
For Oti Manu, the result is proof that Gold Stars mean business as the season enters its decisive phase.
"It tells you how ready and how serious we are. We are left with 10 games to end the season, and we believe we are picking it game after game, and we will see what happens in the next few months."
With the title race tightening and momentum swinging their way, Gold Stars have sent a warning to the rest of the league: they are not letting go of their crown without a fight.
