Former Black Stars defender Samuel Inkoom has expressed satisfaction with Ghana's preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, praising the Ghana Football Association and Sports Ministry for their approach ahead of the global tournament.
Speaking to Connect FM 97.1, Inkoom highlighted the recent additions to the technical team as evidence of thorough planning.
"The pre-tournament preparation by the GFA and the Sports Ministry has been great. The new addition to the technical team is a good one. Football is all about preparation, and I am happy we are preparing well," he said.
The former right-back, who was part of Ghana's historic 2010 World Cup quarter-final squad, knows the level of detail required to compete at the highest level. His endorsement of the current setup will offer reassurance to fans eager to see the Black Stars make a deep run.
Inkoom also stressed the importance of studying opponents, warning that failure to do so would make the tournament unnecessarily difficult.
"If you're going to the World Cup without properly monitoring your opponents, the tournament will be very difficult for you, and you won't enjoy the tournament."
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama. The Black Stars will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before facing England in Boston on June 23 and Croatia in Philadelphia on June 27.
With preparations underway and confidence building, Inkoom's message is clear: the foundation is solid, and Ghana is on the right track.
