Black Queens shot-stopper Cynthia Findib Konlan has been named the Best Goalkeeper of the 2026 Pink Ladies Cup following an exceptional run in the four-nation tournament held in Saudi Arabia.
The Ghanaian international was officially presented with the Golden Glove award by the tournament organizers at the team’s hotel in Sharjah.
Konlan’s recognition comes on the back of a flawless defensive display, where she maintained a 100% clean sheet record across the competition.
The dependable goalkeeper featured in two matches, recording shutouts in Ghana’s dominant 4-0 victories over Hong Kong and Russia. Her command of the penalty area and crucial interventions ensured the Black Queens did not concede a single goal throughout their campaign.
The award caps off a successful outing for the Ghanaian side, who were declared champions of the friendly tournament. Konlan’s individual brilliance was matched by teammate Doris Boaduwaa, who claimed the Golden Boot as the competition’s top scorer.
The Golden Glove accolade further solidifies Konlan’s status as one of Africa's premier goalkeepers. Her performance in the Pink Ladies Cup follows a stellar year in 2025, during which she earned a prestigious nomination for the FIFA FIFPRO Women’s World 11.
Currently playing her club football with FC Samartex Ladies, Konlan continues to be a pivotal figure for both club and country, providing the defensive stability that has propelled the Black Queens to recent international success.
