Division One side Attram De Visser Academy will face Premier League leaders Medeama SC in a quarter-final clash of the MTN FA Cup at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.
The fixture presents an intriguing contest between a lower-tier team enjoying an impressive cup run and one of the country’s top-flight sides aiming to add another trophy to their history.
Attram De Visser have built a reputation as a difficult opponent in the FA Cup. The Division One club reached the semi-finals last season before losing 3-1 to Golden Kick FC at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium.
This season, they have again shown their strength in the competition. In the previous round, Attram De Visser produced a dominant display to defeat Eleven Wonders 4-0, despite playing the entire second half with ten men.
The team arrives for the quarter-final in strong form, remaining unbeaten in their last five matches across all competitions.
Medeama SC will also be confident heading into the tie. The Mauve and Yellow are two-time FA Cup champions, having beaten Asante Kotoko in the 2013 and 2015 finals.
They reached this stage after eliminating FC Samartex 1996 in a penalty shootout in the Round of 16.
Sunday’s game will mark the first meeting between the two clubs.
