The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has remained tight-lipped on the future of the expanded technical team of the Ghana national team following the dismissal of former head coach Otto Addo. In the build-up to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the GFA strengthened the Black Stars’ technical setup by adding five more staff members, increasing the total to 19. However, Addo’s departure has sparked questions about whether the entire backroom team will be retained under a new head coach. Speaking in an interview with 3Sports, Okraku indicated that no final decision has been made regarding the structure of the technical team. “I can’t answer for this moment,” he said when asked whether the technical staff would all retain their positions. “But what I know is that I am leading the charge, engaging all key stakeholders, just to make sure that we have a technical team that will take us to where we desire and where we want to go," Okraku added. With Addo out of the picture, the GFA is expected to appoint a new head coach in the coming days as preparations for the World Cup gather momentum. The Black Stars are set to regroup in May and June for friendly matches against Mexico and Wales as part of their final preparations for the global tournament. Ghana has been drawn in Group L for the competition, where they will face Panama, England, and Croatia when the tournament kicks off on June 11 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
