English-Ghanaian forward Jesurun Rak-Sakyi delivered the key moment as Stoke City earned a 2â0 home win over Sheffield Wednesday at the bet365 Stadium.
Latching onto a pass from Sorba Thomas, Rak-Sakyi opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, calmly finishing to put Stoke in control before half-time.
Lamine Cissé doubled the advantage midway through the second half, slotting home in the 57th minute to cap a confident performance from Mark Robins’ side.
Stoke created the better chances throughout, with their attacking trio of Million Manhoef, Rak-Sakyi and Cissé stretching Wednesday’s back line and regularly forcing Pierce Charles into action. The visitors struggled to create clear openings, despite edging possession, and rarely threatened to turn the game around.
For Rak-Sakyi, this goal adds to a steady 2025/26 Championship campaign in which he has registered 2 goals in 10 appearances.
The result helps Stoke City build momentum ahead of their next Championship fixture away to Derby County at Pride Park on Monday, April 6, 2026.
