Hearts of Oak have expressed concern following reports of the armed robbery attack on the Berekum Chelsea team bus after their Ghana Premier League fixture.
The Phobians described the incident as disturbing and extended their support to Berekum Chelsea, including the players, technical team, management and officials affected by the attack.
In a statement, Hearts of Oak stressed that no club or football official should have to endure such an experience while carrying out their duties.
“We extend our thoughts and solidarity to Berekum Chelsea FC, the players, technical team, management, and all officials affected by this disturbing incident,” the club said.
The club also wished those injured a swift recovery, expressing hope that they receive the best possible medical care.
Hearts of Oak further called for a thorough investigation into the incident, urging authorities to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
The attack has raised serious concerns about the safety of teams travelling for domestic competitions, with several clubs and stakeholders rallying behind Berekum Chelsea in the aftermath.
