Prosper Narteh Ogum has named a strong starting eleven for Ghana's Black Starlets ahead of their opening Group D clash against Algeria at the 2026 CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Rabat.
The Black Starlets head into the encounter determined to make a strong statement as they begin their quest for continental glory.
Dr. Ogum has maintained faith in goalkeeper Solomon Kwame Kesse, who keeps his place between the posts for the crucial opening fixture.
In defence, captain Mujahid Osman will feature at right-back, while Issah Abdul Rafiu takes charge on the left side of defence.
At the centre of the backline, the highly rated partnership of twins Essau Kofi Kpoeti and Jacob Kofi Kpoeti will once again lead Ghana’s defence.
The duo has earned praise throughout the team’s preparations for their chemistry, composure, and defensive leadership, becoming one of the standout strengths of the Black Starlets squad.
The midfield trio will consist of Isaac Barfo, Michael Nyantakyi, and Mark Kagawa Mensah as Ghana aims to control possession and create attacking opportunities.
Leading the attack will be Mark Aboagye, Eric Adu Gyamfi, and Robinho Yao Gavi, with the front three expected to provide pace, creativity, and goal threat against Algeria.
Ghana's Black Starlets enter the competition full of confidence after several weeks of intensive preparation in Morocco, including friendly matches against Ivory Coast and Mali.
