Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz has declared his side ready for the decisive Group L clash against Croatia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars will face the 2018 World Cup finalists in a crucial encounter on Saturday night in Philadelphia, with qualification to the knockout stage still hanging in the balance.
Ghana currently sit second in the group with four points, level with leaders England, who occupy top spot on goal difference, while Croatia are third with three points heading into the final round of matches.
Speaking ahead of the high-stakes fixture, the former Real Madrid tactician acknowledged the quality and experience within the Croatian squad but expressed confidence in his team’s preparation and mentality.
“Another tough game lies ahead of us against a great Croatian team filled with talented and experienced players. Of course, it will be a difficult and intense contest for both sides, but at the end of the day, I believe it will also provide plenty of excitement and entertainment for everyone watching.
“With the inspiration and determination of our players, I hope we will be able to express ourselves well on the pitch. If we can play our football the way we want, I am confident we will move closer to our objective, which is to fight for the win. We are ready for tomorrow’s match,” he said.
A victory for Ghana would guarantee qualification to the Round of 32 and potentially secure top spot in the group, depending on the outcome of England’s clash. The Black Stars will also be hoping to continue their impressive form and make a strong statement as they chase a place among the tournament’s elite nations.
