OFFICIAL: Ghana-eligible striker Malik Pimpong joins Eintracht Frankfurt on six-year contract

Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt have announced the signing of Ghana-eligible striker Malik Pimpong from Danish champions FC Midtjylland on a six-year contract.The 18-year-old, who is the son of former Black Stars forward Razak Pimpong, has penned a deal that will keep him at the German club until June 30, 2031, after establishing himself as one of Denmark's brightest young talents.Standing at 1.90 metres, Pimpong arrives in Frankfurt following a prolific spell with FC Midtjylland's U19 side.Over the past two seasons, he made 46 appearances, scoring 30 goals and providing one assist while also featuring seven times in the UEFA Youth League.The powerful forward enjoyed a sensational 2025/26 campaign, finishing as the top scorer in the Danish U19 Drenge Ligaen with 20 goals in 26 matches.His outstanding performances earned him a place in Midtjylland's UEFA Europa League squad on two occasions, highlighting the club's confidence in his rapid development.At international level, Pimpong has represented Denmark at U17, U18 and U19 levels, making 24 appearances and scoring 12 goals.However, he remains eligible to represent Ghana through his father, Razak Pimpong, who was part of the Black Stars squad at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung believes the teenager has the qualities to develop into a top player but stressed that the club will be patient with his progress.Malik Pimpong is a young player who brings with him a lot of talent and potential, Hardung told the club's official website.The important thing now is to give him the time and space to get used to Eintracht Frankfurt, our structure and his new surroundings.
