Ghana's Black Queens will now be based in Casablanca for the group stage of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) revised its logistical arrangements for the tournament.
The Black Queens, who are in Group D, were originally scheduled to set up camp in Fez during the group phase.
However, CAF has informed participating teams of changes to the tournament's operational plans, with Ghana's base switched from Fez to Casablanca ahead of the competition.
The adjustments form part of CAF's broader logistical planning for the tournament, with updated accommodation and camp arrangements communicated to all participating nations.
Despite the location change, Ghana's group stage fixtures remain unchanged as the Black Queens will face Cape Verde, Cameroon, and Mali in the group stage.
The team will head into the tournament aiming to build on the progress made in recent months under head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren.
Beyond targeting a strong run at WAFCON, the Black Queens will also be seeking to secure qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, with the tournament serving as the pathway to the global competition.
Ghana will be hoping the revised arrangements have little impact on their preparations as they look to make a positive start in Morocco and challenge for a place in the knockout stage.
