Black Stars goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has assured that the team will qualify for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
This assurance comes following the team's elimination from the ongoing 2026 World Cup in North America.
With the team now set to shift focus to the AFCON qualifiers in September later this year, the St. Gallen shotstopper has stressed that the team will secure qualification to the tournament, which will be co-hosted by Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda.
"If you look at the players we have, I think we have what it takes to qualify for the AFCON next year. These are young and hungry players," Ati-Zigi told Sporty FM in an interview.
He also assured that the team has what it takes to make an impact at the tournament.
"I believe we can make a statement with what we have as a group in the AFCON next year," he added.
Ghana has been housed in Group C alongside Ivory Coast, Gambia and Somalia.
The Black Stars are aiming to qualify for the tournament in East Africa after failing to qualify for the last edition of the AFCON hosted in Morocco.
