Black Queens forward Evelyn Badu believes Ghana will emerge stronger from their 1-0 defeat to Cameroon after vowing the team will learn from its mistakes.
Ghana slipped to defeat in their second Group D fixture at the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations after Marie Gisele Ngah Manga converted a first-half penalty.
The Black Queens improved significantly after the interval following the introduction of Badu, who thought she had equalised only for her effort to be ruled out for offside.
Although disappointed with the outcome, Badu says the squad is determined to use the experience as motivation ahead of its decisive clash with Mali.
"We're going to learn our lesson and take something positive into the next game. We're sad and disappointed because, yeah, it would have been great for us to equalise and maybe get a point from the game.
"We've just got to stay together as a team, fight for it, stay positive, and go into the next game with so much confidence."
The defeat ended Ghana's perfect start after the Black Queens had beaten Cape Verde in their opening fixture.
Coach Kim Lars Björkegren's side must now defeat Mali on August 6 to progress to the quarter-finals.
