Ethiopian Premier League side Ethiopia Coffee have officially confirmed the departure of Ghanaian goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim, who has completed a return to his former club Asante Kotoko.
The 23-year-old shot-stopper impressed during his two-year spell with Ethiopia Coffee, establishing himself as one of the league's standout performers.
He featured in all 33 league matches during the 2024/25 season, conceding just 16 goals and keeping 21 clean sheets – an impressive 63% clean sheet rate that helped Ethiopian Coffee finish with one of the league's best defensive records.
His performances earned him the Ethiopian Premier League Goalkeeper of the Month award for April 2025, as well as Man of the Match honours in key victories. Danlad also contributed to penalty saves and clean sheets that cemented his value to the club.
Danlad has signed a two-year contract with Asante Kotoko, with the deal including an option for a one-year extension.
He had been training with the Porcupine Warriors during pre-season while negotiations were finalised, and his return is seen as a significant boost for the club ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
Ethiopia Coffee expressed their gratitude for Danlad's contributions in a farewell message, thanking him for his outstanding performances and wishing him well in his return to Kotoko. The club's statement acknowledged the impact he made during his time in Ethiopia and celebrated his professionalism.
With his move now complete, Danlad will look to pick up where he left off in Kumasi and help Kotoko challenge for honours in the upcoming season.
