Ghana striker Joel Fameyeh leaves Puskas AFC after 19-month spell

Ghana centre-forward Joel Fameyeh has left Puskas AFC and is now without a club, ending his time with the Hungarian side on 15 September 2026.

The 29-year-old joined Puskas AFC from Russian club Rubin Kazan on 31 January 2025 in a €350,000 move. He made the switch after a spell with Rubin, where he had returned from a loan at Baltika.

Fameyeh’s departure comes at the start of the 2026-27 season. He did not make an appearance for Puskas AFC in either the Hungarian top flight or the Magyar Kupa campaign before leaving.

The Kumasi-born forward began his senior career in Ghana with Asokwa Warriors before moving to Wa All Stars. He later spent time on loan at Belshina in Belarus, ahead of a permanent move to Dynamo Brest in 2016.

Fameyeh won the Belarusian Cup twice with Dynamo Brest, in 2017 and 2018, and also lifted the Belarusian Super Cup in both years. He helped the club win the Belarusian league title in the 2018-19 season.

In July 2019, he moved to Orenburg for €150,000. He joined Rubin Kazan on a free transfer in July 2022 and was part of the side that won the Russian second-tier title in 2023.

Fameyeh subsequently spent the second half of the 2023-24 season on loan at Baltika before returning to Rubin. His move to Puskas AFC followed seven months later.

The right-footed striker is 1.80m tall and has a recorded market value of €400,000. His departure from Puskas AFC is the latest move in a career that has included spells in Ghana, Belarus, Russia and Hungary.

Fameyeh has now completed his exit from Puskas AFC and is available as a player without a club.
