German-Ghanaian midfielder Kelsey Owusu scored and provided an assist as FC Saarbrucken drew 3-3 with Preußen Münster in a thrilling 3. Liga contest.
The midfielder produced an influential first-half display, helping Saarbrucken build a commanding lead before Münster mounted a dramatic comeback.
Owusu doubled Saarbrücken’s advantage in the 19th minute, finishing a move involving Mladen Cvjetinovic. Munster responded through Charalampos Makridis two minutes later, but Saarbrücken restored their two-goal cushion when Owusu assisted Florian Pick in the 29th minute.
Alexander Staff had opened the scoring for Saarbrücken in the fourth minute, meaning the visitors led 3-1 at halftime. Munster fought back after the interval, with Lucas Zeller reducing the deficit in the 57th minute before substitute Montell Ndikom completed the comeback five minutes later.
Owusu started the match but was replaced by Maurice Multhaup in the 59th minute. His goal and assist took his league tally to two goals and one assist from five appearances this season.
The result left Saarbrucken sixth in the table with nine points. They will next face SG Sonnenhof Großaspach in 3. Liga on September 19.
