Ghana’s Black Challenge have named a provisional 20-player squad for national camping as preparations intensify for the 2026 World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) World Cup in Mexico.
The tournament will run from November 13 to 22 in San Juan de los Lagos, with 24 countries expected to compete.
The Ghana Paralympic Committee announced the squad on September 21, with head coach Richard Obeng set to trim the group to 15 players for the final tournament.
Ghana head to Mexico as one of seven African nations at the competition and will be aiming to build on an impressive record on the continent.
The Black Challenge won the 2021 African title in Tanzania, defeated Morocco to claim gold at the 2023 African Para Games in Accra and retained the continental crown in Cairo in 2024. The latter victory secured their place at the World Cup.
