Kwadaso MCE Breaks Grounds For Commencement Of 24-Hour Economy Market 

The Municipal Chief Executive for Kwadaso, Eric Asibey, Nananom, assembly members and stakeholders in the municipality have officially cut the sod for the construction of a new 24-Hour Economy Model Market at Kwadaso.

The facility aims to stimulate round-the-clock economic growth, create jobs, and boost local household incomes and help to transform the municipality into a major commercial hub.

The MCE said the multi-purpose project is being executed under the technical supervision of Eco Planner and Engineering Consult and scheduled for completion within three years.

Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Mr. Asibey emphasised that the initiative reflects the central government’s commitment to decentralisation and localised economic development.

He disclosed that upon completion, the Kwadaso 24-Hour Economy Market, which will ensure safety, convenience, and community welfare, will comprise 250 lockable and open-air shops and a women’s bank designed to resolve long-standing logistical bottlenecks for local farmers and traders.

According to him, the complex will integrate several vital auxiliary infrastructure components directly into the facility.

He said the master layout secures emergency response and security through a dedicated police post and an on-site fire station, and that essential health and community welfare services will be managed through an integrated healthcare clinic, an on-site pharmacy, and a daycare centre.

The MCE urged the contracting firm and project consultants to adhere strictly to technical specifications, demanding that construction meet the highest quality standards and to be delivered on schedule.

He called on residents of Kwadaso and the surrounding communities to cooperate fully with the construction team and take active ownership of the facility once it is commissioned.

Mr. Asibey expressed gratitude to President John Mahama, the Ashanti Regional Minister, and traditional stakeholders for their collaborative efforts in bringing the development project to fruition.
