As part of efforts to enhance policing in Ghana, the Women, Peace and Security Institute (WPSI) of the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) has been engaged by the Accountability Rule of Law and Anticorruption Programme (ARAP), a European Union funded programme in Ghana, to assist in the development a Gender Policy for the Ghana Police Service.
The United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peace Operations, H.E. Jean-Pierre Lacroix, has commended Ghana and the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) for invaluable contributions to peacekeeping on the continent and in various parts of the world. H.E. Lacroix said the Centre has proven itself as a very critical ally in the peacebuilding process through its role in training and building the capacity of persons involved in peacekeeping operations.
