Tens of thousands of registered voters in the Manhyia South and North Constituencies of the Ashanti Region are taking part in the general elections currently underway throughout the country.
Voting largely started on time at 7:00 am with voting materials arriving mostly at 4 am.
The polls will run from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
At the Apagyafie Polling Center where 598 registered voters are expected to vote, the exercise commenced at 7:00 AM with 35 people voting as at 7:45 AM.
At the Manhyia Palace 1 and 2 many were in the queue at the time of our visit.
Manhyia Palace 1 as of 11 am 71 people out of 370 registered voters had cast their votes.
At the Manhyia Palace 2 72 out of the 369 had also turned up for the exercise.
Some 42,719 registered voters are expected to cast their votes today across 109 polling centres in the Manhyia South Constituency.
There was also a high turnout at Topido 1 and 2 polling stations Duase New site polling station and others in the Manhyia North Constituency.
Some 71,600 registered voters are expected to cast their votes today across 144 polling centres in the Manhyia North Constituency.
