Ginius Drops ‘Here’s Where We Once Were

British-Ghanaian music producer, singer and songwriter, Ginius, has released her highly anticipated new project, ‘Here’s Where We Once Were’ — what she describes as the most personal body of work of her career to date.

Out now on all major streaming platforms, the tape marks a bold new chapter for Ginius as she leans fully into vulnerability, memory and healing.

The project blends Afro R&B, Amapiano and Ginius’ signature “afro blend” — a vibrant fusion of Ghanaian Highlife, modern Afropop and Contemporary R&B that has become her sonic trademark.

Production duties are handled by a tight roster of hitmakers. Insvne Auggie produced four tracks including ‘Love Me Softly’, ‘Woman’, ‘Different (Remix)’ and ‘So You Do’. Joker produced ‘Test Drive’, Okukuseku the Bang Machine handled ‘Lost & Numb’, while KFM Dadaba produced ‘Time & Attention’ — a track that began as a pure freestyle and was mixed and mastered by Van Boied.

Speaking about the project, Ginius said: “This is probably the realest tape I ever wrote. Some of the songs I have written prior to this I had not lived but this is a tape that every part has once been my reality. It’s the beginning of the end; simply put.”

Across ‘Here’s Where We Once Were’, Ginius traces the full arc of love — from infatuation and joy, through disbelief and heartbreak, to the quiet question of how it all ended. The tape does not shy away from grief, but also finds space to honour what was.

“Love is bound to end, whether through a breakup or unfortunately death. What matters is how you choose to remember it,” she added.

Over the years, Ginius has carved out her own lane by staying deeply connected to her cultural roots. More than a singer or beatmaker, she is widely regarded as a producer’s producer — crafting soundscapes that soundtrack the lives of her loyal fan base, the Copilots.

With ‘Here’s Where We Once Were’, Ginius delivers not just music, but a diary set to rhythm — intimate, rooted, and unmistakably hers.
