Togo legend Emmanuel Adebayor believes Ghana will face a stern test against Ivory Coast without Mohammed Kudus when the Black Stars begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign this week. Kudus was initially included in Carlos Queiroz's 24-man squad for the opening Group C fixtures after months on the sidelines, but the Tottenham Hotspur forward withdrew on Sunday to continue his recovery. The 25-year-old has been replaced by Mohammed Fuseini of Derby County. Speaking to 3Sports, former Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham striker Adebayor said Kudus' absence could leave Ghana short of experience in one of their toughest fixtures. "There is no game without an experienced player; it will be hard," he said. "Kudus would have brought confidence into the team. But with [youngsters], trust me, it will be difficult. "Ivory Coast against Ghana, you need some players who can bring [cool heads]." Ghana travel to face Ivory Coast at the Stade de la Paix in Bouaké on 24 September before hosting The Gambia at the Accra Sports Stadium on 27 September, as Queiroz looks to make a strong start in Group C. The Black Stars will then round off the international window with a friendly against Morocco at the Grand Stade de Tanger on 4 October.
