Vice President of Rosebank International University College (RIUC), Dr. George Kwabena Asamoah, has officially welcomed the 2026 cohort of students during a vibrant orientation ceremony, reinforcing the institution’s mission to transform Ghana into a premier regional education hub.

Addressing a gathering of distinguished guests, faculty and the new student body at the university’s Opeibea House Campus-Accra, Dr. Asamoah emphasised that RIUC is not just a local college but a key brand of the ADvTECH Group, Africa’s largest private education provider.
He stressed that with a network serving over 150,000 students across the continent, RIUC brings internationally recognised standards directly to the West African market.
RIUC challenges the traditional notion that African students must travel abroad to access premium higher education; hence, championing a new model of higher education that bridges world-class standards with deep local relevance.
“We are a serious, credible institution operating to internationally recognised standards. Our vision is clear and purposeful: to become the largest and most respected university in Africa. This vision is underpinned by a firm commitment to excellence and by our guiding principle,” he said.
He reiterated that opportunity should not demand that potential students abandon their context, culture or community. “Instead, education should meet you where you are—while preparing you for the world.”
The vice president highlighted that RIUC’s curriculum is benchmarked against global academic standards while remaining meticulously adapted to local social and economic realities. This dual focus ensures that graduates are prepared for both the Ghanaian job market and the broader global economy.
Student experience and academic support
Dr. Asamoah invited students to experience what he termed “The face of quality education.” The RIUC campus features purpose-built, technology-enabled classrooms and collaborative spaces designed to mirror the evolving modern workplace.
He underscored the university’s commitment to holistic student support beyond the classroom as it ensures robust wellness programmes, mentorship and career guidance.
This approach is already yielding results; despite being in its early stages in Ghana, the college is reporting high levels of student progression and early achievement outcomes.
“Your experience at RIUC extends far beyond lectures and examinations. We are deeply committed to the quality of teaching and learning in practice, ensuring that your classes are engaging, relevant and intellectually challenging,” he stated.
West Africa as an emerging education hub
Dr. Asamoah reiterated that Rosebank is proud to be part of Ghana’s journey as a stable, credible and attractive education destination. Elaborating that Ghana’s political stability, regulatory credibility and growing academic ecosystem make it uniquely positioned to become a regional education hub.
RIUC is contributing to this vision by attracting students from across West Africa and beyond, and by educating leaders who can operate confidently in both regional and global contexts.
By studying at RIUC, students are part of a larger mission: developing and retaining talent within the region, rather than exporting potential elsewhere.
“You are not just earning a qualification, you are contributing to the intellectual and professional capacity of West Africa,” he argued.

Driving the 4IR
With 15 accredited programmes across the Faculties of Commerce, ICT and Hospitality, RIUC is strategically aligning its offerings with the demands of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR).
Dr. Asamoah reaffirmed that the institution is focused on graduate readiness and employability, ensuring that every student leaves equipped with the ethical leadership skills and professional mindset required to thrive.
“RIUC was built with you in mind. It exists to serve your ambitions, unlock your potential and prepare you for a future without limits. You are already in the right place,” he emphasised.
