PR and Communications Consultant, Faith Senam Ocloo, has been honoured with the PR Professional of the Year Award 2026 at the SHIMEI Star Influential Awards, recognising her contributions to Ghana’s public relations and communications industry.
The award was presented at Silverbird Cinema Ghana during the second edition of the awards ceremony held alongside the INCLUDEHer Conference under the theme ‘Include Her: Her Rights. Her Voice. Our Action. Driving Inclusion and Equity Through Cultural Diplomacy, Media and the Social Environment’. The programme formed part of the organisation’s seventh International Women’s Day event and was organised in collaboration with Global Media Alliance, International Relations and Diplomacy Network Ghana, and Capemay Properties.
The awards celebrated individuals and organisations making meaningful contributions to society, particularly through initiatives that empower women and uplift communities.
Faith received the recognition for her influence and leadership in the communications industry, where she has built a reputation for strategic storytelling, brand positioning and advocacy for women in the profession. She is the founder of Women in PR Ghana, a professional network dedicated to mentoring, connecting and empowering women and students pursuing careers in public relations.

She is also the founder of Nueva Communications, a communications consultancy that provides media relations, brand positioning and communications support to brands and organisations. Through her work, Faith has contributed to strengthening professional standards in the industry while supporting brands to tell authentic and impactful stories.
Speaking after receiving the award, Faith emphasised the importance of creating platforms that recognise the work of PR professionals and encourage women in the industry to share their impact. “For me, it is always a joy to see women in PR and communications shine,” she said. “I am always eager to create opportunities for them and encourage them to put their work out there. Often, people ask what PR professionals bring to the table or what exactly they do. That is why it remains our mission at Women in PR Ghana to showcase the work of PR professionals so that it is recognised and appreciated.”
Speaking during the event, organisers emphasised that the awards highlight individuals whose work demonstrates commitment to social impact and leadership. Founder of SHIMEI Solutions Samantha Wuta-Ofei, popularly known as LadySam, noted that the awards celebrate individuals who “have done remarkable things and continue to advocate for women and empower others through their work.”
The ceremony honoured several other notable personalities including media personality Bola Ray, who received the Man of the Year Award; business leader Dr Edith Dankwa, who was named Executive Leader of the Year; and actress Juliet Ibrahim, who was recognised for 20 Years of Excellence in Film.
Other award recipients included Salomé Azevedo, Managing Director of Nestlé Ghana, who received the SHIMEI Woman of the Year Award 2026; Nabeela Abubakari, who received the Sustainability Award 2026; and the Kingsley Appiagyei Foundation, which was honoured with the Community Leader Award 2026. The awards formed part of activities marking International Women’s Day, bringing together industry leaders, entrepreneurs and advocates to discuss leadership, empowerment and representation while celebrating individuals making an impact across sectors.
Faith’s recognition underscores the growing importance of public relations in shaping narratives, building brands and supporting the advancement of women within Ghana’s communications industry.
