Court remands farmer for threatening teachers
Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Nov. 21, GNA – The Dormaa Circuit Court has remanded Kwaku Acka, a farmer at Yawkumikrom near Dormaa-Ahenkro into custody for allegedly threatening to kill two teachers of the local basic school at Yawkumikrom.
Acka allegedly pulled a knife and threatened the teachers why they failed to attend to her sick niece.
Police Chief Inspector Bismarck Boye-Lartey told the court presided over by Mr Alexander Osei Tutu that on November 2, the accused went to the School holding the hand of one Pomaa Abigail, a Primary Three Pupil.
He said when Acka reached the school, he demanded an explanation from the class teacher why he sent his sick niece home to receive treatment.
The prosecutor said before the teacher could utter a word, the accused pulled a knife from his pocket and threatened to deal with him drastically.
He said when other teachers in the school attempted to calm him down, the accused threatened to kill them as well.
The prosecutor said when the accused was arrested, he admitted visiting the school with a knife and a catapult but denied issuing any threats of death.
