French Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyonnais have renewed their interest in Danish-born Ghanaian midfielder Noah Teye Nartey, with reports suggesting the club could make a concrete move during the upcoming winter transfer window.
According to respected French outlet L’Equipe, Lyon remain keen on signing the 20-year-old Brondby IF star, who has been on their radar since the summer.
A previous attempt by the seven-time French champions to lure Nartey to France was turned down by Brondby, but Lyon’s interest has not cooled.
The report claims that Brondby are holding out for a fee of around 8 million Euros to part ways with the highly-rated midfielder, a figure that reflects Nartey’s growing importance and impressive development.
Nartey, who is eligible to represent Ghana despite being born in Denmark, has enjoyed a standout year in the Danish Superliga.
Earlier this month, he was crowned Brondby's Player of the Year, underlining his influence in midfield and his rapid rise at club level.
He has already amassed 71 senior appearances for the Danish outfit, an impressive tally for a player of his age.
Speculation over his future intensified last week after reports emerged that Nartey had rejected Brondby’s latest contract extension offer.
GHANAsoccernet understands that the player and his representatives are keen to explore other opportunities before committing his long-term future, despite what have been described as generous proposals from the club.
Nartey is currently under contract with Brondby until the summer of 2027, placing the Danish club in a strong negotiating position.
