Division One League side AshantiGold SC have completed the signing of experienced midfielder Richard Boadu as they seek to reinforce their squad ahead of the decisive stages of the season.
The former Medeama SC and Asante Kotoko midfielder joined the club on transfer deadline day, signing a deal that will keep him at AshantiGold until the end of the campaign.
The move forms part of the club’s efforts to strengthen their team in pursuit of promotion back to the Ghana Premier League.
Prior to completing the switch, Boadu had been training with Asante Kotoko and was linked with a possible return to the Kumasi-based club. Despite the speculation, the 27-year-old opted to commit his future to AshantiGold for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.
Boadu brings valuable experience to new side, having previously featured outside Ghana following his move from Asante Kotoko to Libyan outfit Al-Ahly Benghazi in 2023.
He is expected to play a key role in midfield as AshantiGold aim to strengthen their promotion credentials and re-establish him among the top midfielders in the country.
