Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Quartsin Gyasi has reiterated his commitment to the Black Stars, describing his Ghana debut as one of the most emotional and defining moments of his career while making it clear that his international journey is not over.
The Italy-based attacker, who is currently plying his trade with Palermo in Serie B, reflected on the pride of wearing the national colours, stressing that the experience meant as much to his family as it did to him personally.
“Making my Ghana debut was a great moment for me, but mostly for my mom and dad,” Gyasi said. “Playing for your country is the biggest achievement that you can have as a player because you’re representing a whole nation and where you come from.”
Gyasi also highlighted the unique feeling of playing in front of Ghanaian and African supporters, describing it as a memory he will always cherish.
“It was one of the proudest moments of my entire career, and it was very nice playing in front of many people in Africa and Ghana,” he added.
At club level, the versatile forward has enjoyed a steady campaign with Palermo, featuring in 10 matches in the Serie B this season as he continues to contribute his experience and work rate to the Sicilian side’s push in the Italian second tier.
Despite his limited recent involvement with the Black Stars, Gyasi insists the door remains open for a return. He revealed that he maintains a good relationship with head coach Otto Addo, with whom he still communicates occasionally.
“I’m not closing the door on a potential return,” he noted. “I have a good relationship with the coach, and I even talk to him from time to time. I don’t consider my time with the national team closed. Anything can happen, and I’m always available. If the call comes, why not?”
Gyasi’s comments underline his readiness to answer any future call-up as Ghana continues to build towards upcoming international competitions.
