Hearts of Oak coach Didi Dramani has demanded further improvement from his squad despite overseeing their most convincing performance of the season, a 3-0 victory over Eleven Wonders at the University of Ghana Stadium.
While acknowledging the importance of the win, Dramani focused his post-match comments on the finer details he felt were lacking.
"I think that it is good that we had our first 3-0 win in the game, but I think that we still need to be more clinical, and we need to be more conventional and also make the right decisions in very key moments," Dramani stated.
The coach, known for his meticulous approach, emphasized his dissatisfaction with certain structural aspects of the performance. "For me, I'm more into the small details of the game, and so I wasn't too happy a person because [of] both structures in terms of how our defensive phase [was], the clear identity of what we have to do when we don't have the ball, especially when we need to win the ball in higher positions."
Dramani made it clear that these tactical fundamentals are non-negotiable. "These key aspects are aspects that I don't take lightly. I really emphasise these aspects," he affirmed.
The result, powered by goals from Mawuli Wayo, Martin Karikari, and Kelvin Asibey, temporarily propelled Hearts of Oak to second place in the Ghana Premier League table.
However, Dramani's critical analysis signals that the team's ambitions extend beyond a single impressive result, with the coach insisting on a higher standard as they prepare for their next challenge against Bechem United.
