Former Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Samuel Opoku Nti insists the Ghana Premier League title chase is far from over for the Porcupine Warriors, despite defeat against Hearts of Oak.
The Porcupine Warriors succumbed to a narrow defeat to Hearts of Oak in matchday 22 of the Ghanaian top-flight, held at the Baba Yara Stadium. The win saw the Phobians end their long-term winless run against the Kumasi-based club.
Defender Baba Adamu emerged as the hero of the match after scoring the only goal to snatch maximum points for the Phobians.
Despite the setback, Opoku Nti insists the Ghana Premier League title chase is not over for the Porcupine Warriors.
“It's not over with 12 games to go. However, how they'll pick themselves up, forget what has happened, and move on is very important. It isn't easy for the players at this stage.” He told Kessben FM in an interview.
Kotoko will travel to face Young Apostles in matchday 23 of the domestic top-flight, with victory crucial to reviving their title ambitions.
Currently, Asante Kotoko find themselves in the fifth position on the Ghana Premier League standings with 35 points, nine points behind log leaders, Medeama.
