In-form Medeama SC midfielder Salim Adams has declared himself fully prepared for a senior national team call-up after a string of commanding performances in the Ghana Premier League.
The 23-year-old has been the most standout performer for the Yellow and Mauve this season, scoring five goals in 19 league appearances as Medeama push strongly for what would be their second league title.
Since arriving in Tarkwa at the start of the 2025/26 campaign, Adams has cemented his place as a key figure in head coach Ibrahim Tanko’s setup, combining energy, creativity, and tactical intelligence in midfield.
His consistent displays have not gone unnoticed. Growing sections of the Ghanaian public are now calling for his inclusion in the Ghana national football team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be hosted across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Responding to the mounting calls, Adams welcomed the attention but remained grounded.
“It’s positive for me,” he said. “This shows I’m doing well, so I have to keep pushing. I’m 100 percent prepared for a Black Stars call-up.”
Adams is no stranger to national colours. He previously featured for Ghana’s U23 side, earning two caps and scoring once, demonstrating early signs of his potential on the international stage.
The midfielder first rose to prominence in 2021 following his move from New Edubiase United to Hearts of Oak, where he further developed his game and gained continental exposure. During his time with the Phobians, he also broadened his international experience with a loan spell at FC Cincinnati 2 in the United States â an opportunity that sharpened his technical and physical attributes.
Now flourishing at Medeama, Adams has emerged as one of the league’s most influential midfielders, blending defensive discipline with attacking thrust. As the title race intensifies and national team selectors assess options ahead of global competition, the dynamic midfielder appears determined to let his performances speak louder than the noise.
If his current trajectory continues, a maiden senior call-up may not be a matter of if â but when.
