Zuberu completed the move on 13 August 2026 after four seasons with Slovan Bratislava, where he won the Slovak championship in each of the 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26 campaigns.
The defender arrives in Israel with experience of European competition, having made two appearances in Champions League qualifying during the 2026-27 season. He played 37 minutes across those matches and did not score or provide an assist.
Born in Accra, Zuberu holds Togo and Ghanaian nationality. He is listed at 1.85m and operates primarily on the left side of defence, with his left foot his preferred foot.
His four-year spell at Slovan Bratislava followed a period without a club before he joined the Slovak champions in February 2023. He had previously been with Dunajska Streda, making a permanent move there from Sparta Prague B in July 2019 after beginning his senior career with Ghanaian club Dreams FC.
Zuberu also spent part of the 2020-21 season on loan at Michalovce from Dunajska Streda before returning to his parent club. His move to Hapoel Jerusalem is his latest change of club and takes him from Slovakia’s Nike Liga to Israel’s Ligat ha’Al.
He joins Hapoel Jerusalem with a listed market value of €150,000, having reached a previous career high of €350,000. The transfer gives the Israeli club a defender with recent title-winning experience and a record of involvement in Champions League qualifying.
Slovan Bratislava had been Zuberu’s most recent club, and he leaves after collecting four successive Slovak league winners’ medals. Hapoel Jerusalem have now secured his services without a transfer fee.
