Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo believes Manchester City will be inspired by their Carabao Cup success in the final stretch of the English Premier League.
Manchester City defeated title rivals Arsenal 2-0 on Sunday, March 22, to secure their 9th EFL Cup, with the Ghanaian winning his first career trophy.
Despite the success, the Etihad outfit trail league leaders Arsenal by nine points, but have a game in hand.
“I think it gives us a boost and confidence coming back from the international break and hopefully catching up,” he said after the game. “We don’t want to say too much because momentum can swing quickly so we just have to do our job and hopefully finish off the job potentially.
“We’ve got top quality players, we create a lot of chances and we’ve got good goalscorers, so it can change very quickly.”
With Arsenal visiting in April, the Premier League is set to go down the wire.
However, Semenyo is fully focused on City upcoming games after the international break, insisting they will take it match after match.
The 26-year-old has been a pivotal member of Guardiola's side since joining in January, scoring five goals in 9 league games.
Semenyo will join the Black Stars camp in Vienna on Monday ahead of the upcoming international friendlies against Germany and Austria.
