A delegation led by JoeSalam Abubakar has extended Ghana’s talent identification programme to the Tolon Constituency in the Northern Region, reinforcing efforts to discover young prospects at the grassroots level.
The team included Maxwell Konadu and Awudu Issaka, who were in the area to scout players during the semifinals of the Soyalana Community Gala. Also present was Emmanuel Aidoo, as the group assessed talent and engaged with local football stakeholders.
The visit followed an invitation from Habib Iddriss, whose continued support for youth football has helped grow the Soyalana Community Gala into a key platform for identifying talent in the region. His contribution includes the construction of a new AstroTurf facility to support football development in the constituency.
This year’s tournament featured 16 communities, providing a competitive stage for young players to showcase their abilities. The semifinals delivered high-intensity matches, giving scouts a closer look at emerging talents.
Beyond scouting, the technical team interacted with players, offering guidance on discipline, development pathways and the demands of professional football. The engagement aimed to inspire and prepare the youngsters for future opportunities.
The initiative forms part of the Ghana Football Association’s broader strategy to expand its talent pool by reaching underserved areas, with a focus on building the next generation of national team players.
