Ghana defender Alidu Seidu has taken to social media to break his silence following the Black Stars' exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting the setback is "far from the end" and vowing to work even harder to come back stronger.
The Rennes right-back posted a heartfelt message on X on Friday expressing his disappointment while also looking ahead with optimism.
"A lot of disappointments but this is far from the end," Seidu wrote.
"The only thing that can change my opinion is hard work and that is exactly what I'll keep doing every single day. I truly believe there are great things ahead, I'll keep trusting God's Plan.
"To everyone who stood by me and continue to support me thank you! ð¬ðâ¤ï¸ @GhanaBlackstars"
Seidu was part of Ghana's squad at the 2026 World Cup. The Black Stars' campaign ended with a 1-0 defeat to Colombia in the Round of 32, with Jhon Arias's 14th-minute goal proving the difference.
Ghana finished the tournament with one win, one draw and two defeats, scoring just two goals in four matches.
Seidu joined Rennes from Clermont Foot in January 2024 for a reported fee of â¬11 million. He made his Ghana debut in 2022 and has since established himself as a regular in the Black Stars squad.
Ghana will now turn their attention to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which begin in September.
