Cameroon will face defending champions Nigeria in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after finishing top of Group D following a 1-1 draw against Cape Verde on Thursday.
The Indomitable Lionesses completed the group stage unbeaten, amassing seven points from three matches to secure first place and set up one of the most highly anticipated ties of the tournament.
Cameroon progressed with two victories and a draw, while Nigeria booked their place in the last eight after finishing second in Group C, behind Malawi.

Nigeria, the tournament's defending champions and record winners, remain one of the favourites to lift the trophy once again, while Cameroon will be hoping to continue their impressive run after an unbeaten group-stage campaign.
The stakes will be even higher, with a place at the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup also up for grabs. Victory for either side would secure qualification for the global tournament in Brazil and keep alive their hopes of lifting the African title.
