Black Queens forward Alice Kusi says she is willing to play in any position required of her as long as it helps Ghana achieve success at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Kusi has been an important part of Ghana’s campaign, as the Black Queens reached the quarter-finals after a 1-1 draw with Mali in their final Group D fixture.
Evelyn Badu gave Ghana the lead before Mali responded through Kadidiatou Diabate, but the result was enough to secure progression for the Black Queens.
Speaking after the match, Kusi stressed that she is focused on the collective objective rather than individual preferences, insisting team success remains her priority.
"I'm here as a team player, not as an individual. So far as anything that makes the team happy, I won't stick to my position. As long as we are doing it as a team, wherever I play, wherever I find myself, it doesn't matter."
The forward believes every player must be prepared to make sacrifices for the national team as Ghana continue their push for continental success and World Cup qualification.
"I have to make sure that we are all on the same page, lifting the flag of Ghana."
The Black Queens finished second in Group D behind Cameroon and will face Malawi in the quarter-finals on Sunday, August 9, in Rabat.
The match presents Ghana with another opportunity to move closer to the semi-finals and secure qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
