X1 Energy Drink DOL Super Cup: Tamale City, Semper Fi share spoils in goalless draw

Tamale City and Semper Fi played out a goalless draw in their Group B opener at the 2026 X1 Energy Drink DOL Super Cup at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.

The result made their encounter the only Matchday One fixture to end without a goal or a winner, with both sides settling for a point.

Tamale City adopted a cautious approach from the start, sitting deep and frustrating a Semper Fi side that dominated possession and controlled much of the first half.

Despite their territorial advantage, Semper Fi struggled to break down a well-organised Tamale City defence, with the Northern-based side remaining disciplined and compact.

The game opened up after the break as both teams showed greater attacking intent and created opportunities at either end.

Semper Fi continued to push for the breakthrough, while Tamale City also looked more dangerous on the counter, but neither side could find the decisive finish.

The draw leaves Nsuopon Fidelity FC top of Group B with three points after their 1-0 victory over FC AshantiGold earlier in the day.

Tamale City and Semper Fi sit on one point each, while FC AshantiGold remain bottom of the group without a point.

The four teams will now turn their attention to Matchday Two, with the race for the two semifinal places still wide open.
