New Patriotic Party flagbearer hopeful, Kennedy Agyapong, says job creation will be the central focus of his presidency, pledging to tackle Ghana’s unemployment challenge through practical, business-driven leadership if elected.
Speaking to party delegates during his engagement yesterday, Mr Agyapong said Ghana’s economic challenges, particularly youth unemployment require practical leadership grounded in enterprise rather than rhetoric.
“My presidency will be about jobs. That is my priority,” he said, drawing applause from supporters.
Mr Kennedy Agyapong stressed that his commitment to employment creation is backed by experience, noting that he has created jobs for thousands of Ghanaians through his private business ventures long before seeking political office.
“Even in my private capacity, I have employed thousands of Ghanaians. I didn’t wait to become President before creating jobs. So if I am given the opportunity to lead this country, job creation will not be a promise – it will be a continuation of what I already do,” he said.
He argued that Ghana needed a leader with proven business experience who understands how jobs are created, sustained and expanded, rather than one who relies solely on policy statements.
According to Mr Agyapong, his vision includes empowering local industries, supporting entrepreneurs and creating an enabling environment for businesses to grow and absorb the country’s expanding labour force.
The presidential aspirant reiterated that his campaign remains focused on economic empowerment, productivity and employment, assuring delegates that his leadership philosophy is rooted in accountability and measurable outcomes.
